Pros

  • Specializes in tax-effective planning
  • Offers assistance for UK pension transfers

Cons

  • Client resources tend to be complicated

Empire Financial Group is best for Perth locals who’ve been struggling with their tax liabilities.

They offer tax-effective planning services that especially cater to those who have been losing money from inefficient tax planning strategies.

We love that they help clients increase tax effectiveness by identifying areas for tax saving. They do this by making sure their clients’ assets are assessed with the most accurate tax treatment.

They also help clients in boosting their tax deductibles and making nondeductible contributions into superannuation.

They also offer negative gearing strategies through which they help clients make the right investments. Under this service, they assess tax implications and expected growth rates of a particular investment.

We think this option is best for clients who’ve already successfully transitioned from saving to investing. For us, it’s only practical that clients also take into account the tax implications of the properties they’re about to buy.

One other feature we think is unique to the Empire is their UK pension transfers.

Under this option, Perth locals who’ve worked in the UK can rely on Empire to assist them in accessing and controlling the pension they earned from their work in the UK.

This service includes flexible options such as transferring your funds to Australia or leaving them in the UK.

However, we do think that their client resources aren’t too friendly for first-timers.

If you’re new in the world of finance, the jargon they use in their resources can be overwhelming and discouraging.

Pros

  • Decades of experience in financial advising
  • Independent financial advisor
  • Offers financial advice for loan guarantors

Cons

  • Financial planning fees are expensive

Andep, short for Analysis with Independence, is an independent and unaligned financial advisor in Perth.

Established in 1982, they’ve worked with thousands of clients who love them for their comprehensive and clear financial advice.

As independent financial advisers, they aren’t affiliated with any banks or other product providers, so clients can expect their advice to be conflict-free.

However, we do think this setup lacks the ease of getting a financial advisor already affiliated with your bank, not to mention the flexible options and special deals your bank offers when you get a financial advisor affiliated with them.

Andep is, nevertheless, upfront about not receiving commissions and not charging asset-based or ongoing fees.

They’re also one of the few advisors in Perth who provide financial advice to loan guarantors. In fact, they have their own Australian Financial Services License (ASFL), so clients can rest assured they give accurate and beneficial advice.

We think this is a practical option that can give guarantors peace of mind in deciding to guarantee their loved ones’ loans.

We’re also interested in their mobile financial planning.

Under this option, clients can avail of their services on the go. They meet and advise their clients online, over the phone, or through Zoom video conferencing.

We do have to note that they charge a travel fee if you ever want to have them meet you in person.

We also find their rates a bit expensive.

They charge per hour, and the rate starts at $363 per hour and can go up to $484. If you think you need more than a few hours, they also charge by fixed-fee appointments, pegged at $650 to $850.

Pros

  • Specializes in superannuation and retirement planning
  • Offers Centrelink planning services
  • Especially assists retirees, students, persons with disability, and pensioners

Cons

  • Their client service isn’t the most proactive

Having spent most of our lives working, we may dream of a stable and sound retirement. We love that Bellwether can help you achieve this by offering financial advice.

Bellwether specializes in superannuation and retirement planning as well as Centrelink planning.

Under their superannuation and retirement planning, they offer strategies to optimize your income stream and keep some as savings too. These strategies include tax risk management, personal risk management, and retirement income transition.

Simply put, they can help you earn for your retirement and easily transition into it by providing efficient finance management strategies.

One other feature that makes them great for retirees is their Centrelink planning service. We love that they assist clients in looking for Centrelink and government benefits that are abundantly available, especially for older retired Australians.

Nevertheless, students, persons with disability, and pensioners can also rely on Bellwether to look for benefits available for them.

Centrelink benefits include family tax benefits, assistance for separated parents, students and trainee support, age pension for older Australians, and disability support pensions.

If you belong to any of these groups, Bellwether can deliver the help you need.

However, a few clients note their representatives aren’t the most proactive.

We also find their client resources lacking. Unlike its rivals, Bellwether doesn’t have a designated tab on its website where clients can readily access resources on financial management.

Pros

  • Especially advises first-home buyers
  • Excels in giving investment advice
  • Offer accounting services

Cons

  • Some of their representatives tend to charge hidden commission fees

Aspire2 is a great option for clients who are thinking of finally buying their first home. They particularly offer first-home buyer savings strategies.

Under this service, Aspire2 takes into consideration your financial position, financial management practices, and your lifestyle in order to come up with strategies that will help you manage your cost and even save up as you purchase your first home.

Clients also note they excel in their investment advice service.

With this option, they create a personalized plan tailored to your financial circumstances and needs. They analyze your cash, property, and managed funds to come up with a portfolio that will improve your risk tolerance.

They also offer aged care advice, which is a little different from the retirement plans other advisors provide.

Through this service, they assist elderly clients or their families in dealing with nursing home costs. These costs usually include refundable accommodation deposits and daily accommodation payments.

We also love that Aspire2 has partnered with firms engaged in accounting and business advisory practice.

We think this feature elevates the quality of their financial advice. This also saves clients the money, time, and effort to look for and hire a third-party accountant.

However, one client notes that their representatives might be charging hidden commission fees, so be sure to confirm all chargeable fees before availing of their services.

Pros

  • Easy and smooth advising process
  • Excellent client resources
  • Regularly reviews strategies and portfolio valuations
  • Keeps updated relevant legislation

Cons

  • Inconsistent client service

If after going through our list so far, you still find yourself a little overwhelmed and clueless about where to begin, perhaps Life Financial Planners can help you.

What we love best about Life Financial is the ease of their advising process and their client resources.

We love that they’ve organized their services into levels depending on the financial circumstances of their clients.

After carefully assessing their client’s financial position, they recommend the level of service they think is best for the client and present it in a statement of advice.

For us, this is an excellent way to define a starting point on their clients’ financial stability journey. This way, clients can feel more at ease and relaxed moving toward their financial goals at their own pace.

We also appreciate that they center their service on building long-term relationships with their clients. In fact, they commit to a regular review of strategies, investments, and portfolio valuations and updates on relevant legislative changes.

Considering that our financial positions are heavily dependent on the changes in our personal lives, we think this feature is a strong point of efficiency for Life Financial.

We’re adding points to their ease of advising process because Life Financial gives their clients access to their accounts online. Hence, clients can always review their financial status anytime and anywhere they want.

They’ve also provided a Knowledge Center on their website where clients can find easy-to-absorb resources, including videos, articles, and even calculators!

While they excel in their client resources, unfortunately, their client service can be a hit or miss. One client notes that their representatives tend to lack people skills.

Still, some clients say they’re informative and professional.

Cornish Wealth Management is a company that’s dedicated to their client’s financial future.
