Lava Laundry Lounge is one of Perth’s most high-tech laundromats, with 9 washers handling up to 18 kg and 12 gas dryers for loads up to 21 kg. It’s perfect for large loads and heavy-duty items like linen, duvets, and clothing.

They use IPSO machines with a 350 G-force for quicker washing and drying. These high-tech machines also feature card readers and digital wallet terminals for easy payments.

Overall, Lava Laundry Lounge is a top-notch laundromat. I’m only iffy about their strict cut-off times because their doors automatically lock at 11:00 pm. If you wash past that, your clothes will be stuck inside the store until the next open day. 

Moreover, you can’t bring your own laundry detergent and softener here. Their machines dispense these automatically, which might be an issue for those needing specific soaps and softeners.

Now its my peaceful and happy place, i come here every week to wash and dry my clothes, its a part of my lifestyle now. Everything is easy to use and self explanatory. Theres even an automatic door to help you when your hands are full (i mean, how great is that?!) and a nice calm seating area with books for you to read. Busy Bee Laundrette is another laundromat that I recommend for heavy washing. They have 18 IPSO and Electrolux washing machines for loads up to 27 kg and 16 gas dryers for loads up to 21 kg. 

Moreover, the shop charges competitive rates for its customers. Their washing rates start at $6 per 10 kg load and $1 per 9-minute drying cycle, which I think is good enough, considering I’ll need about 30 minutes (that’s about $3 total). 

Moreover, their machines accept coins and digital payments, which is a plus because at least I can use loose change here when I can. 

There’s just limited parking around the area, so I would have to carry my heavy laundry to the laundromat each visit. I try not to stay inside while waiting for my laundry to finish since it can get really hot and stuffy inside.

It was busy but still plenty of machines available and being able to pay via QR code (bank/PayPal) was hugely practical. Forrestdale Laundromat is one of the best laundromats I know in the city that opens as early as 6:00 am.  It’s also one of my best recommendations if you need to do laundry for your pets or for your business because they use industrial-grade washers. 

They offer free detergent and softener that automatically dispenses each new cycle in the washer. Their machines allow you to choose your preferred temperatures and speeds, depending on your load. 

They can accommodate loads of up to 22.7 kg, with rates starting at $8 per cycle and $1 per 6 minutes of drying. Since they specialise in pet garments and industrial washing, their machines are regularly cleaned off of fur or lint each cycle (a great help). 

Just make sure you get here early, though. They close as early as 9:00 pm and the machines are often full by the afternoon.

When I need to work and do laundry, I turn to Glendalough Laundromat. They offer pick-up and delivery service and provide free Wi-Fi for working while you wait.

For me, having a comfortable space, a clean waiting area, and access to Wi-Fi are all great features I look for in a laundromat, and Glendalough checks all those boxes. 

Sure, they’re extras, but they matter to someone like me who does laundry regularly. I love that I can call for pickup and delivery when needed.

The machines handle up to 20 kg, lighter than others I’ve tried, but they work well. However, some machines have issues with the soap dispenser and temperature settings.

They also close relatively early, so I tend to rush through work to get here on time. That’s why I appreciate the Wi-Fi in case I need to catch up on tasks.

I had a glitch with the washing powder vending machine – most likely user problem (me) – I got quite confused and ended up paying twice and not getting my washing powder. Naturally I was quite annoyed! I left a message for the manager explaining my grievance. He was very professional and apologetic and offered me a refund as well as suggesting that he would place instructions on the vending machine to ensure it doesn’t happen again. Superflash Laundromat is open 24/7, making it a solid laundromat for your washing and drying needs at any hour of the day. 

I’ve done my laundry here multiple times whenever I need to get my laundry done before a special event the next day. 

While they do have staff during their regular hours (9:00 am to 5:00 pm), their machines are available for use around the clock. Just note that if you decide to do your laundry past 5:00 pm, you’ll have to bring your own detergent and softener. 

They sell laundry items only when the staff members are on duty. I didn’t mind this though, since I normally bring my own soap. 

They offer 24/7 service and pick-up and delivery for commercial customers only. Regular customers can use self-service. Same-day wash-dry-fold and ironing services are available when staff are present.
