Sadly, there were some instances of them cancelling reservations at the last minute.

Their services don’t disappoint either. Apart from the usual Swan River cruises, they offer themed cruises like the Brewery Tour, showcasing some of Perth’s famous breweries, and whale-watching cruises, which are a real treat.

They also provide catering to make your private yacht cruises even more enjoyable. Furthermore, they offer the added convenience of free pick-up and drop-off at Barrack St Jetty, making the experience a bit lighter on your wallet.

If you’re looking to explore Perth’s stunning coastline by sail, I highly recommend checking out Charter 1 Boat Charters. Their vessel, the Capella, is a luxurious sailing catamaran that can accommodate up to 37 people during the day and 10 for overnight stays.

The boat itself is quite impressive, featuring a spacious indoor saloon with 360-degree views. Plus, it comes equipped with fun gear like kayaks and snorkelling equipment, allowing guests to dive into the water and enjoy aquatic adventures.

While Charter 1 offers preset tours, I like that they offer a Build Your Own Charter option as well. You have the freedom to choose your destinations and activities, whether it’s whale watching, sailing lessons, or something else you and your friends fancy.

Unfortunately, the Capella is their only vessel available, so it’s best to book your reservation well in advance to secure your spot.

The yacht rental company we chose to celebrate our years of friendship with was Pelican Charters. Established in 2004, this company operates two luxury yachts, the Pelican and Livewire.

One of the main reasons we picked them was their special getaway experiences to Western Australia’s Abrolhos and Montebello Islands. Exploring these remote islands was a real treat due to their isolation and the rich fish populations surrounding them. We had ample time to hone our angling skills, making it a fun and rewarding trip.

The yacht we opted for, the Pelican, also exceeded our expectations. It has its own entertainment system and a spacious deck where my friends and I spent most of our time partying and sunbathing.

However, my only gripe with them is their requirement for up to five months to prepare their cruises. This is likely due to the extensive planning needed for their special getaways.
