If you want a casual first date in Perth, one of our favourite bars for excellent drinks and a modern drinking ambience is Foxtrot Unicorn!

This bar has a wide range of premium spirits, classic and modern cocktails, and wines from all over the world. 

We also love their tasty treats! They offer fancy jaffles or closed-toasted sandwiches, which is a rare find among the bars in the city.

However, since they only receive a limited number of beverages, these supplies might exhaust quickly during rush hour. We advise arriving early if you have, so you don’t miss out on anything.

For us, it’s also worth looking at their monthly specials. We appreciate that these items change now and then since this keeps things interesting at the bar and can encourage repeat customers.

But though this bar is open 6 days a week, keep in mind that they’re closed on Sundays. 

There are also several entrances to their building, but only one of them goes directly to Foxtrot Unicorn. When you see a brass plate with the letter ‘M’ engraved on the wall, you’ve arrived at the correct place. 

Unless you’re terrified of heights, C Restaurant in the Sky, located on the 33rd story of St Martins Tower, is a fantastic date idea in Perth. 

We think this is perfect if you’re seeking to enjoy a lovely dinner with a great view of the Perth metro.

For dinner, guests may pick between a 2 or 5-course feast. We like these straightforward options so the guests won’t be overwhelmed with the numerous menu items and can just enjoy their chosen meal experience.

In our opinion, their costs seem fair for a fine dining establishment. We also appreciate their vegetarian options to accommodate more tastes.

This restaurant is also open every day, so we find this place very accessible – we believe this is handy when a couple suddenly decides to reschedule their date.

However, one client told us that even though they had made a reservation in advance, their table had not yet been set up when they arrived.

Yet, we think this might be an isolated case. To prevent any hassle, we suggest following up the day before to ensure everything’s in order.

Those who are craving Italian food for their date in Perth may try Gioia On The River. As the name implies, we like that you can choose to eat outside to take advantage of the riverside views.

You can choose where to eat, but if it’s hot outside and you don’t want to sweat, we advise calling ahead to see if their air conditioning is operational. This is because its malfunction has drawn a few complaints from some customers.

Still, we appreciate their generous serving sizes. Their meals are on the pricey side, though, so it’s best to check their menu in advance.

They serve authentic Italian cuisine, and we love that there are lots to choose from! This includes paccheri pasta, tortelloni, risotto, grilled chicken, double-cooked lamb, fish of the day, and more.

In addition, they offer a wide array of alcoholic drinks. We’re in awe of their long list of wines and cocktails, but they also have non-alcoholic beverages for the others.

However, we can’t guarantee that they have enough options to accommodate most special diets. It’s best to contact them before your visit to avoid wasting your time later on.

For a fancy date night in Perth, we recommend trying one of the city’s best-known steakhouses, The Meat & Wine Co.

This restaurant has a wide range of steaks, from the more standard rib-eyes to the well-known Wagyu. But if you want something else, we’ve heard they make quality beef burgers too!

They prepare their meats in an African style, which we like because this gives them a distinctive edge among other steakhouses in the city. 

Plus, guests can choose from a variety of hand-selected wines and spirits too. Their staff offer blends from local Australian wine regions, South African wine growers, and expert vignerons from around the globe.

And if you want to be more romantic, we suggest looking into their two quaint private dining rooms to level up your date experience. Here, we love that you won’t need to leave the room to find alcohol because these accommodations have in-room bars.

But because they’re one of the most popular steakhouses, they’re also one of the busiest, and it may be hard to get a slot with them.

For us, it’s best to book weeks or months in advance, especially during busier seasons like Valentine’s.

Do you want to have a more quirky date in Perth? Then, the Perth Institute of Contemporary Arts (PICA) might be the museum for you and your special someone!

We think that art ought to be thrilling and spontaneous. Upon seeing the gallery, this has some of the most intriguing perspectives on how one can view art, in our opinion.

It’s remarkable for us that their exhibitions offer more than just sight-seeing – visitors are welcome to investigate the distinctive pieces with their other senses, like hearing and touching.

The visitors we spoke with also mentioned that there weren’t many displays available when they went. Your experience may differ from others depending on the day of your visit.

At least, your entry to the PICA’s exhibitions is free on Tuesdays through Sundays. We think it’s wise to take advantage of this if you want to be thrifty.

For your convenience, we love that they have accessible toilets, baby-changing facilities, an in-house wheelchair, braille wayfinding, and handrail tactile indicators too! We believe they’re showing amazing progressiveness with these amenities.

It’s also easy to park in the garages at the CPP State Library (with entrance via Francis Street) or the CPP Cultural Centre (with entrance via Roe Street). These are the closest parking alternatives because the gallery lacks parking of its own.
